01:51 pm - Pimping the Finish-a-thon again....
Come on, people. I know some of you have already signed up for this amazing ficathon, but I also know there are more of you out there who would benefit from a deadline on one of the stories you haven't managed to finish yet. Got any plot bunnies you just love, but haven't made time for? Any ideas your friends have been bugging you to write?

The Finish-a-thon was created just for them.

Signups END this Friday, so you've got a little over two days. Come on, you know you want to.... (Felicia? Kim? Mistral?)
Current Location: lunch break
Current Mood: okayokay

*blink, blink* Huh? Wha? You lookin' at me? I gots nothin' that looks like it's going to get finished up any time soon. Angst!Muse is oddly quiet (I worry when that happens. It usually means she's up to no good) and Humor!Muse is taking a break after her most recent posting. Though admittedly, if I could just think of a song reference (for literary purposes) and a title for a fic, it might be good to go . . .

But I don't have the required minimum to sign up anyway.

So just aim those puppy eyes in another direction, little missy. ;-P

*g* That's what this ficathon is for, silly!

But I'll quit bugging you now.

Problem is, everything I write takes either a week (most of the work done in one spurt) or a year or more.

Still, I'd be very tempted to join in if I didn't have a Katrina auction fic that I am trying to finish this month, but will probably run into September (longer if I, gasp, work with a beta once I have a good draft done).

Additional things I am working on (thinking out loud):

A novel-length story in which Blair saves the world but loses his soul. About a third done, all plotted out, but it will take another year or a lot more writing time than I have now

My take on what happened after S2P2, in which I have Jim have a nice little nervous breakdown with everyone watching. This will be quick to write, but I really want to have a copy of the episode handy, so this may wait until more TS is out on DVD, whenever that may be

A half-slash story involving Fraser and one or both of the Rays

The next installment of the "Summer of 1999" series, in which Jim discovers that that gate travel isn't really for him. I'm going to aim to get this done for SentinelAngst dues some time this fall.

The installment after, a sequel to "That One is my Other Brother", which pulls Ezra Standish into the series.

A story in which Jim and Blair end up in Riverworld ("The Sentinel of Riverworld") - this is another one-weeker, but it would require me to do some reading of additional Riverworld books.

The adventures of Naomi Sandburg and Mary Margaret MacDonald, Goa'uld Busters (sort of part of "Summer of 1999")

"Eighty Days of Scrabble" in which Elizabeth Wier and Woosley play, well, you know. Probably another quick one to write, but I'd have to read up on Scrabble strategy and develop differing styles for them.

I can understand wanting to work on prior commitments, yes. But still...

Well, for things that you think are going to be really long, you could do the "write 10,000 words" option...

My plot bunnies are too vast in scope and not nail-down-able enough me thinks... :(

But you have them, though, so they must be a bit more solid than vapour.

I shall be signing up as soon as I manage to corral the requisite number of plot bunnies.

Stubborn little buggers, aren't they? Took me two months to gather up the collection I finally placed (one of those is almost 5 years old; another, barely two weeks).
