Snagged from mistraltoes (and via her, from many other people):

Give me up to five characters from fandoms I know and I'll give each of them an honest compliment.

Lookit the lovely cross-fandom list here! :-)

Don Eppes thinks he's everyone's big brother, and acts accordingly.

Larry is brilliant but doesn't let his intellectual pursuits cloud his perception of human issues and the spiritual side of life (though his physics background does cloud his expression of those things...which just makes him more adorable).

Neroon spent years dwelling on revenge--but when he was shown the error of his ways and given a chance to change, he seized it with both hands. That took humility and courage.

Rodney McKay always says what he's thinking--which means nobody really has the opportunity to misunderstand him. I think that's a very underappreciated skill. :-)

Nymphadora Tonks refuses to let people (I'm looking at you, Remus Lupin) get away with making excuses not to be loved.

Hee.

Threepio is such a loyal friend and follower that I think it more than excuses all his whining. :-)

That's very so. He's not as huggable as Artoo, tho. I don't think there's a geek around who wouldn't want to give Artoo a big bear hug if they met him.

I'd lift him off of his little wheels. Or hurt something trying.

Dr. Daniel Jackson, Col. Samantha Carter, Angel, Buffy, and General O'Neill =)

I admire Dr. Daniel Jackson's unwavering moral compass, and his readiness to eloquently defend the actions it requires.

Col. Samantha Carter is intellectually brilliant, and a soldier--but she hasn't let that get in the way of her femininity.

Angel's constant struggle with his literal inner demon is awesome, even when he loses for a day or two.

Buffy has an edge a lot of people don't: she questions customs and rules, and ditches the ones that don't work.

Not many people deserve this particular praise, but General O'Neill does: he is truly an honorable man.

I love that about him too.

The struggle is what makes him a hero.

That's our little Buffster all right.

General O'Neill does: he is truly an honorable man.

That he is.

I could be mean and say Dolores Umbridge, but I won't :D.

1) Severus Snape

2) Irena Direvko (I know I butchered that spelling... I mean Sydney's mom from Alias)

3) Dr. Foreman, from HOUSE

Severus Snape has a remarkable amount of self-restraint.

Irina Derevko (um, I think that's how it's spelled, maybe) was a good enough woman that her assignment as Jack Bristow's husband became real to her--real enough that remnants of that family existence colored all her decisions about Jack and Sydney for the rest of her life.

Foreman has a brilliat mind, which he puts to good use. (When he can crawl out from under his arrogance and ambition, anyway. LOL.)

Very diplomatically said. LOL.

her assignment as Jack Bristow's husband

Irina was more versatile than I thought ;-).

#3 has a taste of a backhanded compliment, but I'll let it slide. Hee.

omg. *crawls under desk in embarrassment*

The meme said the compliment had to be honest. :-) (Confession time: I am not really a fan of Foreman's, in case you hadn't guessed.)

LOL. Who is? That's why I chose him; I knew he'd be difficult *evil grin*.

Elrond has my utmost respect for putting his strength not into war or anything with the appearance of power, but for creating a place of rest and healing and song. The world needs places like the Last Homely House west of the Mountains.

Ba'al is really hot. (Refering of course to his looks, not his temperature, unless there's something I don't know.)

Captain Jack Harkness has a galaxy's worth of courage, and the charm to match it.

Special Agent John Doggett has an old-fashioned sense of honor--one of those rare men who can fall head-over-heels in love with a woman (Scully), but simply take care of her, rather than make a move on her, because her heart belongs to someone else.
