Okay, for a geek who grew up on Star Trek, this (Hot Gas in Space Mimics Life) is just too cool.

For some reason, the idea of plasma-dust lifeforms *in stars* brings to mind our Sun calling to the other stars, "Hey, look! I've got a planet with something kind of like critters, and they're even sending out signals! Aren't they cute?" and debates going on across the light-years about whether we qualify as life.

LOL!

That needs to be a short story, or, even better, a poem.

Actually, it put me in mind of the Doctor Who episode "42", with it's living sun. Not so far-fetched after all, hah!

But yes, living gas - very Trek.

(hmmm, could you call that "tres Trek"? But I'm probably not the first to suggest it...)
