|10:35 am - GIP! [assuming that *does* mean Gratuitous Icon Post]|
Many of the icons I use on this journal have been created for me by an ol' online buddy, JD. He has no LJ of his own, so I am showing off his fine work to you. :-) Please, enjoy! And drop him a line here if you like any of the icons.
(Follow the fake LJ-cut to JD's fantastic icons!)

whoops. Sorry about the empty number.
You're a Jack fan, then? :-) Isn't ifonlyicon awfully nice and shippy?
I like Jack but I prefer Daniel. Actually, I haven't gone totally shippy over either of them, but I have a softer spot for academics than for military types.
The ifonlyicon is awfully nice and shippy! I liked those scenes...very nice. Actually, watching the two of them act like mature adults is way more of a turn-on for me than would be watching them do something totally stupid with respect to to their relationship.

WORD. I'm still mid-season 3, and I was really enjoying the Sam & Jack relationship *before* "Point of View"--I had no idea they were going to get so much into the shippy potential in that ep. Not that I minded, either, but I'll be interested to see where it goes....
I was surprised by how shippy they got in that ep, as well. "A Hundred Days" has a painful moment at the end, from Carter's p.o.v. I'm in mid-season 4 at this point; I've seen the relationship referenced once more, in a way that was actually key to the plot ("Divide and Conquer"). I think the writers use it well--viewers know that it is an undercurrent throughout the show, so that when it comes into play, it's a very Chow-Yun Fat/Michelle Yeoh, Crouching- Tiger-Hidden-Dragon kind of thing. :) Powerful, very cool, and I respect the two of them. UST without the UST driving the episodes. They had to get the stereotypical stuff out of the way in season 1 ("The Broca Divide"), so we could move on to the more interesting interactions. :)

Yes, nice way of putting it.

Just goes to show you how much I shipped J/S (not) back when I saw that ep--you mentioned it, and it took me several minutes to go: "Oh yeah! The locker room scene!" Sheesh. :-)

Heh. EVERY sci-fi show needs a "Naked Time/Naked Now" episode, preferably early on, so it doesn't ruin long-established characters.
I thought the scene was funny, not sexy. I've become more of a shipper as the seasons have gone by.

What turned me into a J/S shipper was "Solitudes", but "Point of View" pretty much cemented it.
"Solitudes" was the episode my mother decided to watch repeatedly. I think she's a closet shipper, but she won't admit it. :)

Yeah? I guess the only other reason to be a particular-ep-fan of that particular ep is liking survival stories, or perhaps enjoying how they ridiculed the "one-climate-type" planet cliche. :-)
I think she liked how they had to spend most of the time cuddling up together, personally. :)

I always wanted to see (or write) a fanfic where Jack and Sam recall their last conversation in the cave, and Jack admits he realized through his hallucination who was comforting him, and how he feels about it.
"It's my sidearm, Captain, I swear."
Or, you know, one could love this ep because Jack "suffers beautifully". [He does! I've noticed this, and it's not just character stuff, it's his acting. I *believe*, completely, that he's injured. It hits me like it was real.]

Glad you like them, Reveilles. I'll be adding more to the page as time goes by.
