06:31 pm - Don and his team storm the offices of CBS
Oh, I am not pleased. Not pleased at all, my precious.

Apparently, CBS is cutting the number of episodes ordered this season.

From the usual 22 to 16. So we're almost half way through the season already.

This probably means it's the show's last season, as well. *huge sigh* Guess we'll never see that wedding. *enters a deep blue sulk*

(What? I will miss this show, dang it!)
Current Location: denial?
Current Mood: shockedshocked

Honey, this show means a lot to the both of us. A lot of our friendship evolved from late-night fic sessions with this show. And e-mails of RM pics. And post-show Tea and Squee.

This will be a blow to both of us.

But Don hasn't been a field agent in quite a while, and I get the sense that they are winding down the series with his contemplation of leaving the Bureau.

As an aside, I don't think I've mentioned how much I love how the Don & David dynamic was played in the last ep. David has been with Don since the beginning, and Don is his mentor. I love the friendship they've developed, and that they'll go to each other for advice.

Anyway . . . that's very disheartening news. I just hope it goes out strong when it does go out.

*gasp* This means that Jensen probably won't get to guest star and wear Kevlar! I'm crushed!

What kind of entertains me is that Rob Morrow doesn't appear to be the impetus behind this move; on his Facebook (thank you, juleself ), RM asked the fans to write in and let CBS know they're not happy.

This means that Jensen probably won't get to guest star and wear Kevlar

OMG, you're right! *is crushed with you*

Well, there he is. But I'm not getting any information. Per what FB is telling me, I'd have to friend him (and vice versa).

Can you access it?

Yeah, or at least I was able to look at his profile and his Wall. FB told me I share a network with him, and that's why--RM might be on the LA network or something. I'll go grab the status he did and put it here for you....

Looks like it's very similar to the one on the forums; and then this morning he just put up Nina Tassler's address info.

yes, they pulled us back to 16 eps from an original order of 22. not a good sign. but, we're not over yet. we need a big write-in campaign. ya'll have to get everyone u know to blitz the network with unrelenting letters. keep numbers alive....xxoo, rob m

Rob also posted (through his company name Bitsandpieces) at the numb3rs.org forums this morning:

Looking on the bright side:
* closed canon is more fun to write for
* it's less likely to jump the shark if it finishes now.

Mmmm, I've always been just fine writing for open canons, but that's true for a lot of people, and there are things you can do with a closed canon that are tougher when it's still open. Definitely, it's less likely to jump the shark if it ends soon...though I don't think it's close to that, yet, so....

If it goes, I shall miss it. A good show.

(to be completely honest? the wanna-be tv writer in me is a little sad, too. i'd love to write for this show or a show like it.)

I wonder if they can do any "22 to 16" inside jokes on the show like Arrested Development did.
