.....except that my bed is almost as uncomfy as Sam's fold-down cot-thing. :)

Seriously. I have a 25 year old mattress set I bought for a song when I moved down here, and it's just scary now--I can feel the frame and the springs and it's starting to give me back/neck/headaches. So I'm trying to figure out how to get a new(er) mattress, but they're so bloody expensive. *sigh*

And I just saw 1) a full-size mattress set, and 2) one of those plushy squooshy mattress covers, both on LAReUseIT (a free swap mailing list), but both were gone in the few minutes it took me to get in touch with both people. *grumpy face*

Yeah, they are. Maybe if you keep surfing the site, another will come up? For a while, you might try getting one of those AeroBeds -- they're fairly inexpensive on eBay -- and use it until you can afford a better set.

I'll keep trying. Aerobed? What is this? *googles* Huh. That's a possibility, but new they're only $150 less than the mattresses I was looking at. Hmmm. I shall check eBay, thanks!

Grr. Get a new mattress, though - even if they are expensive, wrecking your back is (a) painful and (b) will cost you more in the long run.

Well, both of those things are true...but when you literally don't have money for clothes, it's a little hard to focus on spending hundreds of dollars on anything. If I had a proper job, it wouldn't be a problem; I'd budget it out right away and deal with the tightened "belt" for a few months. But right now? God, send me a mattress? :)

Yeah, I know *hugs* (given that I was thrown into a panic by having to get a new watch...)

Aw, you do understand. :) (I'm using my phone instead of getting a new battery for my watch....)

Yeah, I know how expensive new mattresses can be. Have you tried an air mattress? They're usually much cheaper.

The couple of times I've slept on a air mattress (as a guest somewhere), I found them not very comfortable. I could try again, I suppose....
