08:41 pm - Quote for the Day
“Have patience with everything that remains unsolved in your heart. Try to love the questions themselves, like locked rooms and like books written in a foreign language. Do not now look for the answers. They cannot now be given to you because you could not live them. It is a question of experiencing everything. At present you need to live the question. Perhaps you will gradually, without even noticing it, find yourself experiencing the answer, some distant day."
--Rainer Maria Rilke

::thumbs up::

I have a habit of worrying at questions and mysteries like a dog with a piece of rawhide. I have at least learned that understanding, even partial understanding, can take time, that sometimes all I can do is let it go for a bit. Sometimes it simmers in my subconscious until I see something I didn't see before. Sometimes understanding comes from somewhere else. But both ways take patience.

The weirdest moments are when struggling with one question illuminates a completely different one. Go figure, right?

I do exactly what you do. I'm only just beginning to be able to let things sit and settle and just *be*... I think it's partly to do with learning more who I am, and how to be content and not afraid; I don't have to make sure that I'm "doing/thinking it right" as much these days.

There is more room for locked doors and books in another language when one isn't irrationally afraid that whatever's in them might be scary. :-D

That's it exactly!
