|01:12 pm - Multi-Fandom Party|
...aka my little fannish thought experiment.
Imagine, if you will, a potentially endless party, its only goal being to take one episode from each attender's chosen fandom and WATCH THEM ALL.
A sort of fannish retrospective with some current stuff thrown in.
I'm inviting you all to come! Choose one of your fandoms (obscure or not, doesn't matter), and bring your favorite or in your opinion the best episode from that fandom with you.
In other words, comment; I shall compile a list.
The one and only rule: if your first choice of fandom has already been taken, pick another. The key here is to be as multi-fandom as possible.
I'll start us off by returning to my early days of fandom:
Babylon 5: "Comes the Inquisitor"
ETA: And here come the guests, bearing gifts!
whitemartyr is bringing Buffy the Vampire Slayer: "Passions"
whitemartyr’s alter ego is bringing The X-Files: "Pusher"
jd3000 is bringing Mystery Science Theatre 3000: "The Final Sacrifice"
vertigozooropa is bringing Farscape: "Scratch ‘N Sniff"
lizamanynames is bringing Blake’s 7: "Gambit"
rj_anderson is bringing House, M.D.: "Three Stories"
scionofgrace is bringing Firefly: "Out of Gas"
lapinguina is bringing Numb3rs: "Convergence"
kerravonsen is bringing Sapphire & Steel: "The Railway Station"
scorptilicus is bringing Futurama: "Where No Fan Has Gone Before"
tomh1138 is bringing Quantum Leap: "M.I.A."
And the party continues....
Current Mood: chipper

Obscure or not?
Mystery Science Theater 3000, The Final Sacrifice
I knew you were going to pick MST3K.

Dah. I was honestly thinking of tossing a QL or SG1 or even TNG onto the table, but that would have been too simple. Yes...they would have been expecting that....
We've got to get you in front of an MST3k ep one of these days. Maybe Hamlet...or better still a Manos or a Eegah!, just so you can appreciate how truly bad a film can be.

My grandpa *loves* Puma Man. It is a terrific Mike ep.
"I kiss my frog in your honor."
"Fight him with your will!"
"But my will won't!"
"I'm a representative of Aztechnologies."
"You've succeeded! They think you're dead, and now they will leave you alone."
"To be left alone — the goal of every great hero!"
"I hate your crotch!"
"So the gods fulfill their holy plan to roast a man in a helicopter."
"*singing* Puma Man, he flies like a moron..."
"Help! I'm falling at a forty-five degree angle, violating all the laws of physics!"
do I get to vote twice?
The X-Files: "Pusher"

Re: do I get to vote twice?
Since you bring "Pusher," sure. ;-D
Farscape: "Scratch 'N Sniff"
Oooooobviously, I call Numb3rs and "Convergence" ;)
*mouths "Ooo, math fight!" to self and wanders away giggling*
Well, Blake's 7 is gone, and I'll leave Doctor Who to someone else.
I'm torn between the obscure and the really obscure. The really obscure is so obscure that it's never been shown on television, so it may not count: BBV's The Stranger: In Memory Alone
The obscure is Sapphire & Steel: The Railway Station, but that may not count either, as it is a multi-episode adventure, like Classic Who.
I went ahead and put up your Sapphire and Steel choice. Technically, there's no reason I shouldn't have put up the other one, though...I'll add it too, if you like.
I'll add it too, if you like.
Ah, but guests only get one each, don't they?
Well, yes; though I did let whitemartyr put one up as herself and as her alter ego. *g*
Let's hope this doesn't count as two
Futurama: "Where No Fan Has Gone Before"

Darn! We only get one?
Well, since you didn't mention QL, I guess I'll have to. :)
Quantum Leap: M.I.A.
BTW, do all the episodes have to be available on DVD? I'm not sure we can all participate if people are naming stuff that's not available.
MIA is available on DVD, but I recommend tracking down a friend's VHS copy if possible, since the ending is ruined on the disc due to music rights.
P.S. Out of Gas is my favorite episode of Firefly too. :)

Re: Darn! We only get one?
Since, at the moment, it's a virtual party (we'd have Americans from several states, Canadians from at least two provinces, and an Australian, so far), no, they needn't be on DVD. :-)
I'll add MIA in; glad someone picked QL!
