As always with an award show, some went to undeserving actors, and a few went to those who really worked for them.
My personal favorite was the surprise in the catagory of Lead Actress in a Drama Series:
Mariska Hargitay, aka Det. Olivia Benson from Law & Order: Special Victims Unit.
SVU is one of the few procedurals that can freak me out, so I try not to watch it too often, but it's also the one L&O show with two phenomenal lead actors. I was thrilled to see Hargitay's fine work recognized.
It's about time. *applauds*
