Look at your LJ userpics list. If you have fewer than 50 icons, pick every fifth one. If you have between fifty and seventy-five icons, pick every seventh one. If you have over seventy-five icons, pick every tenth one. If you have fewer than ten, pick all of 'em. List them on your LJ, and tell everyone exactly why you have it, why it's interesting to you, what significance does it have.
A Blair & Jim (The Sentinel) friendship icon. This was the first icon I requested someone (tammy) make for me. Looking at it now, it seems a bit too clever, but at the time I thought the inversion of the proverb about family ("blood is thicker than water") was too good to pass up, especially when coupled with images from Blair's drowning/resurrection. I still like it, actually. :-)
My first cross-fandom icon. When I watched The Incredibles, this moment where Violet stands up ready to take on the responsibility of her powers just shouted this line from the Buffy finale at me.
Not my favorite icon, but the wording sold it to me. That's actually David Krumholtz as Charlie Eppes under the protective gear, but I never use it as a fandom icon. Mostly, it's a I-couldn't-care-less sort of icon. Use over coolness!
I nabbed this icon from kalquessa because it's simple, beautiful, and is one of my favorite quotes from CS Lewis' book Till We Have Faces. Pregnancy/childbirth has been my favorite metaphor for the creative process for a long time, so I reserve this icon for such posts.
One of a series of quotation icons, all taken from the Numb3rs character Dr. Larry Fleinhardt. Probably my least used of the four.
This is my favorite Numb3rs icon, because it shows them at their most affectionate (mock fighting), and that's what I love about the show and about these two characters.
Took me long enough to get an "amusement" icon. But this one is pretty good--I have no idea what episode it's from, since Daniel Jackson isn't usually a bucket of laughs--and I've started using it a lot.
Comments between whitemartyr and myself resulted in a series of "plot tribble" icons from kerravonsen, and this is my favorite one. Because "plot tribbles" really are born pregnant! I swear. Which is why I start with one idea and wind up with a potential series in my head....
