"Shout for joy to the LORD, all the earth.
Worship the LORD with gladness;
come before him with joyful songs.

Know that the LORD is God.
It is he who has made us, and we are his;
we are his people, the sheep of pasture."

Psalm 100:1-2

I am so blessed. I thank God for so many things:

For my steady paycheck, and the raise I got this fall.

For a family who has always loved and accepted me (even if my poor mom didn't quite understand the whole fannish thing for a while, bless her), and been a place where I could learn and grow and discover the reality of faith in Christ.

For the grace and mercy of God, throughout life, in large things as well as small. That He loves me completely as I am, yet doesn't leave me there; that He heals my hurts as well as gives me strength to love like Him.

For my beloved friends.

For the people who don't mind if I cry around them. For the people who can pray for me and with me, and allow me to pray for them.

For the trust given to me by the people I am close to. I feel so unworthy; and so grateful; and so privilaged.

For language (as Peter Wimsey said, "I find it very easy to get drunk on words"), communication; for the craft of words and story and character, in all forms and genres. For the grace and beauty of being touched and touching through that medium.

For people--both in RL and online--who share my faith, my obsessions, and my fannishness. I am blessed beyond words by you all.

For running hot water. "A loon is he who will not sing, O, Water Hot is a noble thing!"

For coffee. *inhales dreamily*

For a neighborhood safe enough to take solo walks through.

For the pseudo-ghetto talk that my two co-worker constantly engage in; they amuse me to no end.

For turns of phrase, and puns.

For dreaming, the crazy weird tales and images of my sleeping mind.

For crossover fic ideas, with all their wonderful congruities and echoes.

For the feel of old paper in a 50-year-old book.

For the sound of a voice over the phone, the sound of a friend I haven't seen in months.

For old thoughts and new beginnings.

And for the coming year, to keep in mind, these words, "Tests are a gift. Great tests are a great gift."
