Ninth Doctor, come with me!

(no subject)

"Nothing in this world can take the place of persistence. Talent will not; nothing is more common than unsuccessful people with talent. Genius will not; unrewarded genius is almost a proverb. Education will not; the world is full of educated derelicts. Persistence and determination alone are omnipotent. The slogan "press on" has solved and always will solve the problems of the human race."

~Calvin Coolidge

I don't know if I'd go quite as far as he does; after all, persistance does not always solve problems, nor is it really a substitute for understanding or clear thinking. ("Insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results.") On the other hand, I desperately need to keep reminding myself of this. Just because I'm not where I want to be doesn't mean I should keep pressing on; just because I need work doesn't mean I should settle for something far from my goals. If I temp for awhile, so be it. But I'm free to pursue what I came here for, and I need to go for it.
