11:26 am - Los Angeles is not quite on fire
Well, the city proper, anyway. The air is nasty, full of smoke; when I came out of work yesterday, the sky was brown and tiny bits of white ash were falling.

My house (and work) are not in the path of any of the fires yet--most are south (and north) of me. I won't even be here for next few days to experience the crappiness, though; I am flying East to visit my good friend feliciakw. If I fail to reply to comments, post, or reply to email, I'm probably having too much fun to bother with the internets (or trying to get feliciakw hooked on Supernatural).

See you all on the flip side--and may God send rain to my city while I'm gone.

If it's rain you want, it's rain you're gettin'. After months of drought--months and months of drought--we've had two days of rain within the same week!!!! Not that it brings the water level to a fraction of what it needs to be, but I'm not complainin'! If we have to walk DC in the rain, or if it's raining in Jamestown, well, heck, we won't melt. (Or we can find something else to do).

So bring yer wellies. 'Twill be fun!

Heh. I has no wellies...and while I did pack my umbrella this morning, I have no wet-weather gear, really. You may have to take me shopping! :-)
