|09:13 am - Whoo-hoo! (DVD news)|
Finally! OMG, FINALLY.
SciFi's show The Invisible Man (aka I-Man) becomes visible on DVD in March!
Mind you, it's only the first season, but it has commentary on the pilot episode. And it's on DVD! In the US! You all have no idea how bouncy this idea makes me. Well, okay, maybe you do--and I'm betting that krysalys and lon_dubh are going to be every bit as bouncy. Right, guys?
Dang it, I still don't have an I-Man-related icon. *goes hunting for one*
Hey, feliciakw, does this count towards your wishlist, or only if someone pre-orders it for you? ;-)
Current Mood: bouncy

OH HONEY, I'M RIGHT HERE WITH YOU, FLAILING LIKE A MADWOMAN.
I CAN'T SEEM TO GET OUT OF CAPSLOCK EITHER.
Now... WHERE'S SEASON TWO?@!

Re: *bounces madly*
PS - Elvis vs JXL (A Little Less Conversation) is playing right now on my iTunes, and your bouncy kitty's going with the beat!

Re: *bounces madly*
Yeah, seriously, we need season two!
(and while I'm wishing, Paramount? We could use the second season of The Sentinel, too. Plz?)

Re: *bounces madly*
I know I will be beaming like a proud parent when I finally see that boxed set of DVDs on the shelf at the store.--and you're right, TS second season should be right next to it, along with half a dozen other series I can think of instead of reality series that are currently on the air!
I was never able to watch the whole series when it was on TV; this makes me very, very happy.

Well, double yay! It was a really solid show, especially for SciFi--funny, dramatic, snarky. *happy sigh* And the first fandom I really loved enough to get into a project with other fen--the I-Man Virtual Seasons, which is still being created.
Gah!!!! *blithers incoherently* Gotta tell Geo!!! You know we were just talking about that. See my LJ Christmas wish list!!!

I think *God* read your wishlist. Hee!
Oh, yay! The vids over at strangefandom
totally made me want to watch that show for myself.
I see Netflix doesn't have it listed yet, though. I nearly ended up with some 1950s program by mistake when I went looking for it just now. Edited at 2007-12-17 11:55 pm (UTC)

Yeah, it must be a new enough confirmation that NetFlix hasn't picked it up yet. It's a great show--and it's *not* as slashy as some fen would have you believe. I'm just sayin'. A good buddy show with a solid, small ensemble around them. And comedy! And scifi technobabble! And some rather dark moments, too; a few of them rather unexpected.
Yeah, I'll have to check back in a couple of weeks or so.
And slashiness or lack thereof doesn't count as much of a factor for me, either way. I'm one of those fans that's equally happy with OMG SUBTEXT! and simple buddy gen. Mostly, though, I just wanna see that little ass-kickin' bald guy in action. :)

I kinda figured the slashiness-or-not wasn't a big deal for you, given what you write; this is just one of those shows where I get riled easily by the "how can you MISS the SUBTEXT?!" fans. 'Cause I do not even see where they get it. Honestly. *shrugs*
Mostly, though, I just wanna see that little ass-kickin' bald guy in action.
Oh, that you will see! That's Bobby Hobbes, my friend, and Bobby kicks some serious ass. :-) Often Darien's ass, when said partner needs it or is temporarily out of his head.

Hey! More I-Man fans! This is so great, and just when I thought there were none on LJ. I guess I wasn't looking closely enough. I have another LJ which I wanted to use for I-Man related stuff, plus some other fandoms, since dj_aida is my exclusively Magnificent Seven LJ. Hope it's OK to friend you when I set it up?
All the best,
*waves* So glad to realize you're into I-man! I don't think people in this fandom are all that active on LJ, but I'm part of a group of fans who are still writing the continuing adventures of Darien and the Agency, if you're interested: The Invisible Man Virtual Seasons
And yeah, please do friend me once you set that other journal up! I'm always happy to have more friends who love my fandoms (especially quieter, smaller ones like I-man).
(Also LotR/Tolkien, if your icon is anything to go by!)

Yes, I-Man was my very first love, and still remains one of my favorites to this day. I wasn't all that active, though I did make some wallpapers under the handle Rian Merenwen (another LotR connection :) which are posted on imaniacs.org
And I used to follow the VS religiously; had even downloaded the episodes since lack of internet at home prevents me from spending hours reading it in a net cafe. I haven't been able to complete them, unfortunatelly, due to a huge amount of time my work requires (I teach English and work as a translator, so I always work. No 9-5 for me!). I'm happy when I can have half an hour for checking up what's new on LJ.
My other LJ is pretty much set up, aside from the header which I want to change as soon as I find the time. I was thinking about a collage of my various interests; I'll see how that works out.
As for my icon, it represents my initials, A and a sound which appears at the beginning of words like gin or joy. I devised an entire Tengwar mode for writing my language, Bosnia, because it wasn't possible to do it using the English or Sindarin mode of Tengwar, with the help of the Tengwar scholars at the Elfscript Yahoo group. And your icon is great, especially since my sister and a friend of hers have assigned Hobbit-names to us, and named me Sam! :)
All the best,
aka Rian Merenwen Tuluiel od Ostiant
