The saga of my rude neighbor, continued

Actually, for a few of you this might be new; I think the previous reference to this guy was in a post that was flocked for other reasons. Anyway.

I went out to my car this morning to go to work, and across the street is a city work crew.

Painting the curb in front of my neighbor's house red.

As in Do Not Park, Fineable Offense red.

I have never seen nor heard of anyone getting the city to do this in front of a private residence. My neighbor, the grumpy old retired guy who lives there with his lovely wife and annoying son, has been threatening to do this for months, basically since me and my roommates moved onto the street. There are 4 of us and we each have a car, so two of us take the driveway and two park on the street, and we take turns each month. We do try to be careful about parking near his house; we don't park there the day before or after trash pickup; we park a careful distance from his driveway so he and his wife can have visibility when backing out.

Apparently this is not enough for him.

What I want to know is, who the hell did he bribe to get his curb painted red?

I'm trying hard to 1) make this a lesson for myself in Christian forgiveness, and 2) see the funny here, because it's so far out the other side of discourteous that it's like living in a sitcom! But when I first saw that he'd actually done it? I felt like a random stranger walked up to me on the street and slapped me in the face.
