I was just looking through my "writing" and "my fics" tags, and realized that I haven't posted a writing update in....several weeks, which might be some kind of record for me. At least in the fall I would post somewhat regularly to bemoan the lack of progress I was making.
Original stuff, including spec scripts:
--My CSI spec is still in rewrite; specifically, over the past week I finally started to make progress in firming up the backstory for the original characters, which I needed to do so I can fill in some plot holes and restructure the narrative line. I know what I want to do, where I need it to go, it's just figuring out the details that's killing me. But I've pushed past the block I had, so that's good.
--Next up is reworking my screenplay (murder mystery set at a fan convention). I need to get on that, because Hollywood is finally realizing that fandom is a genuine subculture, and it's starting to show up on TV and in films.
--A Supernatural WIP (not posted anywhere, because I write crappy drafts and rewrite substantially), which sarcasticval and feliciakw are stalking me about constantly. I'm 3 scenes in, which has to be less than 15% of the entire story. Might even be, say, 5%. But it's a cool idea, set in season 2, and I'd like to finish it when I have time.
--Eeeep! I signed up to both remix and be remixed in remixthedrabble. Those are due on April 1, so I need to spend an hour or two tomorrow finding a story to remix. (I'm thrilled with my assigned person, though, so that's good.)
--I have a Numb3rs short, Megan & Colby post-"Trust Metric," that's been in the works for months. Right now I'm working out a snag and waiting for a second-opinion beta to come in.
I've been so massively busy that everything else has been put on indefinite hold. This is a sad thing, but there's only so much time in my day.
Happy Easter to those who are ahead of me in Time! Christ is risen!
