10:21 pm - Glad the election is over
I see everyone is making their "obligatory" after-election post.

I hereby decline to join in: not because I'm disappointed (I'll wait until I see the results of the California state propositions before that even becomes an issue) but just because I have no desire to hear people either rave about how great Obama is (though I'm thrilled as the next person about this historic moment in our politics!) or lament how sad they are that McCain lost.

I'll pray for our new President, instead. What a crazy time to be elected! He's going to need it.

ETA: I shall be offline for the remainder of the night. Please to be CIVIL in the comments; I would hate to have to defriend anyone tomorrow for misbehavior.

Unity is what tyrants offer. I discard any politician who promises to unite the nation, because I fucking well don't want to be united with anyone, thank you very much. I will keep my own judgment however much you may wish me to join your great unity. And weren't you lot all in favour of diversity? Or has that suddenly gone out of style now that the Leader has appeared?

Please keep your comments civil. I will delete this entire post if people cannot behave themselves.

I am all for diversity, myself. And freedom. Which is why I am still proud to be an American, and plan to live and work within our system for as long as I live.

Diversity makes a culture rich. Unity is what allows it to move forward. And like everything else in life, a line must always be toed between the two.

God punished the prophets who prophesied good to His people. If you want to be flattered, you will not get it from me. Your country has made the worst choice since Woodrow Wilson in 1912, and will pay for it. End of story.

I was glad to see President Bush said something similar today. "God bless whoever wins" or some such. Very good for him.

And I wish Obama luck as well. He'll need it to deal with the world we're in right now.

I saw your edit and was all "Why is she issuing a reminder? Who possibly is going to talk crap in--oh. Huh. Okay then."

I'm torn on the bullet train. On the one hand, I'm sure there's a much better way to go about raising the funds/building the thing/etc. On the other? BULLET TRAIN!

LOL, this is...pretty much where I stand on the issue, too.
