Y'know, until now I don't think I ever really noticed the part about "self-evident." It's got a kind of "this should be obvious, idiot" feel to it (but much politer).

I love the way the Founding Fathers took the time to explain why a revolution was the logical, reasonable reaction to tyranny, and that they did such a good job of it. Call it idealism or what-have-you, but it makes me sad that so many, even those in the right, so often fail to do the same.

Not everything about the Revolution was right, but what revolution is? It astonishes me that so much of ours was.
