|09:02 am - Fictional Characters Letter Meme|
Okay, I realize you are all as busy as I am, or more so, but I just had to put this up. In case you have a bored few minutes and it tickles your fancy. :-)
Gakked from yahtzee63:
Leave a list of fictional characters in your journal that you would love to get a message from. It is your friend-list's mission, should they choose to accept it, to write you an in-character "letter" from a character on that list. Then they post their own list in their journal and the process continues!
1. Jack O'Neill (actually, mini-Jack would be even better)[SG-1]
2. Jacob Carter/Selmak [SG-1]
3. Will Tippin [Alias]
4. John Locke [LOST]
5. Walt [LOST]
6. Larry Fleinhardt [Numb3rs]
7. Alan Eppes [Numb3rs]
8. Dr. Gregory House [House, M.D.]
9. Nick Stokes [CSI]
10. Dawn Summers [Buffy]
11. Spike [Buffy]
12. Blair Sandburg [The Sentinel]
13. Johnny Smith [Dead Zone]
14. Remus Lupin [Harry Potter]
15. Neville Longbottom [Harry Potter]
16. Hoban Washburn [Firefly]
17. Marcus Cole [Babylon 5]
18. Susan Ivanova [Babylon 5]
19. Jeffry Sinclair [Babylon 5]
20. Bobby Hobbes [Invisible Man]
21. Al Calavicci [Quantum Leap]

Just checkin' in, wanted to say thanks again for all the long-distance rewrite help you gave me a couple months ago. It looks like this puppy is just about finished, and I've found a few great contacts that can help me shop it around to the studios. They say it's a pretty good script, even if it is sci-fi. I'll probably be down in LA in a month or two, so why don't we run by Pink's sometime, huh?
Oh, and I got your email asking about the characters. Let's just say I used to know some guys that inspired the team in the script. Just about everything else is completely made up.
JD...you are BRILLIANT.
*dies of glee*
Especially since, when I read it for the second time I thought, "Hey, this invalidates 'Wormhole Xtreme'," and then I thought, "oh wait, not if the script Jon wrote is the one that would eventually become the Stargate movie and then the TV show...." And then the temporal/dimensional ideas sort of broke my brain. In a good way. :-)
Did I alreay say this was BRILLIANT?
[hmmm. I really need a mini-Jack or Michael Welch icon.]

Aargghh! I wrote a longish letter from Neville Longbottom, and LJ has eaten it!

I can exclusively reveal that Neville was worried that the English in his letter might not be very good, since the Hogwarts curriculum doesn't allocate any time to English (or other "mundane" subjects such as maths). That's something that has always puzzled me too.
If there's nothing wrong with you, go away.
(I feel so mean!)
HA! I'd pat him on the head for that, except I'm afraid he might bite me. :-)
Or make some withering comment designed to send me scurrying away, tail between my legs. *L*
Been a while since we last traded bobs. How's things where you are, with you? Are you good? Last time I saw you we were both in there fighting the dragons and firey hell. Good times. Thank god we won, right? I guess you'd spell it with a capital G. Man it's been too long, Sarah...
But I better be off. I can smell the sunshine all bright and burny on its way. We should do somethin', maybe catch up over a pint or two.
Hee. :-D Yey Spike!
And we could share one of those blooming onion things....
Remember that everything happens for a reason. Don't you for one minute think that this, where you are, what's happening is just...by accident. We've all been through too much to believe that. Have faith, Sarah. Wherever it leads you, faith will carry you to where you need to be. You have to trust. Hell I don't know what's happening half the time, but faith gave me legs. I'm sure your faith will give you what you need to do what you have to do.
Ah, John. This is both encouraging...and, coming from him, just a tiny bit scary. :-)

I was looking for another letter to write, and saw two good choices...and this literally just came to my head and I had to write it down. :-D I hope you like it.
The glow faded, and he felt that so-subtle sensation of warmth again, as he Leapt into another's body. There was that brief first moment of disorientation...he was sitting...at a table, arms in front of him, one hand resting on another, a hand displaying the signs of age but still strong. As a matter of fact, despite the appearance of his skin he felt very fit, very strong and energetic.
He looked up. A lovely blonde woman, in some kind of green military fatigues was smiling at him.
"Daniel and I are going to run some tests on the artifact, we should let you know within the hour, okay?"
He nodded. What else was there to do? The woman left, left him alone in a strange concrete room with a conference table and huge glass window...and itchy clothes. Aigh. The sensation was awful. And then...
The Voice was tremendous, and reverberating, and it came from everywhere at once.
//WHO ARE YOU?
His mind whirled. He stared around in panic, but there was no-one there, and in his thoughts he knew he had not 'heard' the Voice, but...
//WHAT HAVE YOU DONE WITH JACOB CARTER, WHO ARE YOU?
He somehow knew the Voice was as frightened as he was, perhaps even more. And then he began to feel it...sifting through his thoughts, his swiss-cheesed memory. He followed its path of thought as it involuntary brought memories in front of his eyes, analyzed them, and discarded them instantly. It was horrible, disabling, he almost couldn't control what the Voice was doing to him, but one small fragment of independent thought, generated by whatever mind-power was left to him, escaped.
Oh, this is *such* a cool idea. I've read a bunch of SG-1/QL crossovers, but it never occured to me what might happen if Sam Leaped into a Tok'ra.
*gets on knees to beg* Please, please, JD, could you write some more of this? This is just...this is begging to be a full-fledged crossover story, with plot and everything. And I don't have time to write it (though I'd be pleased to help you brainstorm), and it was your idea anyway, and, and, and....
Please? *puppy-dog eyes*

Ohh...how can I refuse the puppy-dog eyes?
Time for an "Oh boy" myself, considering my writing track record, but I have to admit there are too many cool things to include: the notion that PQL has no knowledge of SGC, which is just starting in its time frame, Jacob Carter thinking the Waiting Room is some Goa'uld prison and refusing to talk, Selmak distrusting Sam initally, disbelieving the Tau'ri are capable of such advances as a time machine, and unable to fully read his mind because his consciousness and Sam's are not properly Blended, Al becoming visible from the TERs installed around the base to catch Reetou...
