Nothing huge and traumatic has happened. I just haven't...had stuff to post. Not that I didn't think about posting re: Numb3rs last week, or House last week and this week, or finishing up a short Numb3rs ficlet and posting that.
Okay, here's the latest:
--Have not been working on script. Bad me. However, I now have 9 pages anyway, so.... It's coming.
--Have been working instead on brainstorming details for a CSI spec script that I got a killer (er, pardon the pun) idea for a while ago. Spec scripts are cool. It's like writing fanfiction, and yet it might actually get you an agent or be a good professional writing sample! :-)
--The long, angsty Numb3rs fic V. and I were working on may have been derailed, simply because canon episodes of the show are stealing some of the really cool character moments we had in our story! Which means, of course, that we've nailed the characters...but also means our story is becoming redundant! LOL.
I'm just going to make a few notes per episode, then I've got to get off my lunch break and back to work.
"House vs. God"
--I love that the writers didn't go for the easy humanist route: by the end of this episode, there is still room for faith, still room for a miracle, still room for God. Maybe not quite as much room as I would have liked, but still.
--Huh. I never pegged Wilson as an "I-want-to-believe" person. I'm still not sure he is, or whether he just likes playing...er..."God's advocate" to House's skepticism.
--One thing that annoyed me: the assumption by House that because the kid says "God talks to me," he's psychotic or having auditory hallucinations. That's ridiculously literal. I've had God "speak" to me, and while sometimes very clear and surprising, it's never been auditory. House doesn't even ask that question (though Chase does question his assumption about psychosis).
You know, I'm going to save comments on "Euphoria" until part 2 airs tonight. Till then, just one comment: House blows a lot of hot air, but he cares about his people. Ha. Your cover's been blown, House.
